NEW YORK – A Christmas time icon will be illuminated in New York City Wednesday night.
We’re talking about the famous Rockefeller Christmas tree.
Crews will light the 81st annual Rockefeller tree, a 76-foot tall Norway Spruce from Connecticut, in Rockefeller Center.
When it’s lit you’ll see 45,000 lights and a Swarovski crystal star on top.
Entertainers for tonight’s ceremony include Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey and Kelly Clarkson.
You can watch the tree lighting live starting at 7 p.m. here on NewsChannel 4.
The tree will stay up until Jan. 7.
After that, it will be milled into lumber for Habitat for Humanity.
