“Layaway Santa” spreads cheer
FLORIDA – A man shopping for bikes for a charity event was at the customer service desk when he overheard a woman talking with the clerk about her layaway debt.
Greg Parady then headed straight to the layaway desk and told the employee he wanted to pay $20,000 dollars towards the debt on the stores layaway accounts, including the woman standing at the counter.
Parady, a financial planner, paid $20,000 to pay down the accounts of 76 customers — everyone with balances on accounts of $200 or more.
