Department of Environmental Quality to host public meeting regarding southeast OKC Landfill

OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has scheduled a public meeting regarding the expansion of Southeast OKC Landfill.

The meeting will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2014, at 6:30 p.m. at the South OKC Council of Neighborhoods Building, 2200 Southeast 59th Street, Oklahoma City.

This meeting will provide an opportunity to submit comments or questions about Southeast OKC Landfill to DEQ representatives.  DEQ will provide a written response to all comments at a later date.

DEQ has approved a draft permit modification for Southeast OKC Landfill for public review and comment.

The permit is to expand the existing landfill from 153 to 373.96 acres.  Southeast OKC Landfill is located at 7001 S. Bryant Avenue in Oklahoma City.

Written comments must be submitted to DEQ by January 16, 2014.
