Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art to offer free Community Art Day today
SHAWNEE, Okla. – Saturday, Dec. 14, visitors can attend a special Community Art Day held in conjunction with a sneak peak at the museum’s upcoming exhibit, Derald Swineford: Christmas on the Plains.
During this Community Art Day, participants will create wire Christmas ornaments with jewelry and wire artist Patti Eayre.
Eayre is a local artist who has been designing jewelry and wire art since 1992.
She attended Humboldt State University’s jewelry and metalsmithing program. Currently she sells one-of-a-kind jewelry through the Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art gift shop.
Community Art Day is free and open to the public. Families and participants of all ages are welcome. All supplies are provided. This event is sponsored by the Oklahoma Arts Council and Allied Arts.
The event is located at, 1900 W. MacArthur St. in Shawnee.
The event will be from 1:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m.
