Sooners Slow Down Hurricane
Oklahoma had five players in double figure scoring as they beat Tulsa 101-91 on Saturday at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman.
Edmond freshman Jordan Woodard led all scorers with 24 points, making 17 of 22 free throws, tying a school record for free throw attempts in a game, and falling one short of free throw makes in a game.
Woodard’s older brother James led Tulsa with 19 points and three 3-pointers.
The Sooners hit 34 of 48 free throws as a team, with TU committing 31 personal fouls.
Buddy Hield scored 23 points for the Sooners, hitting three 3-pointers.
Cameron Clark and Isaiah Cousins both added 15, while Tyler Neal scored 12, all in the second half.
OU led by just two points at halftime, but extended the lead and led by as many as 18 points.
The Hurricane stayed close by hitting 12 3-pointers as a team.
The Sooners never trailed in the game, improving to 9-1 on the season.
OU will host Texas-Arlington on Tuesday night in Norman.
