It was all Merissa Magers could do to remember to breathe.
Magers said, "I'm really excited. Got butterflies, shaking. I'm ready."
This was the first deployment for her husband Chris and she anxiously awaited his return with another first.
She said, "Oh my God, you're so heavy, Oliver."
5-month-old Oliver was born while Chris was at sea.
Merissa has been raising him and their 2-year-old daughter, Brooklynn, on her own.
She said, "It's been rough but I'm glad it's over. Seems like it's been a couple of years. Been a long time."
Her husband was supposed to be home two months ago but their mission was extended.
Finally, her wait came to an end.
Chris said, "All we were thinking was that we would be home for Thanksgiving and then that got taken away. So, all we were worried about was Christmas. This is the best Christmas ever, came a little early."
