FRANKFORT, Ind. – Christmas came early for one Indiana family who got their missing dog back.

Rosco disappeared during a recent tornado outbreak and ended up at an animal shelter 45 miles away.

He was then adopted by another family, who graciously decided to give Rosco back.

Madison Pritchard and her parents were driving from Mellott to Frankfurt to pick up a member of their family.

They last saw Rosco four weeks ago, just before a tornado hit their home.

The day after the twister, Rosco was found 45 miles from his home brought to an area humane society.

With no tags, he was adopted by another family.

It wasn’t until Madison’s neighbor posted Rosco’s picture online that they tracked him down.

Kyla Robsinson said, “I thought he was dead at first, then he was found and we’d get him back but we didn’t.”

It wasn’t until Madison’s neighbor posted Rosco’s picture online that they tracked him down.

However, Rosco’s new owner was reluctant to give him up.

Robsinson said, “I’m really thankful the new owner is letting us have him back. She deserves a lot of praise.”

Now, the month-long saga is over and Rosco is going home.
