NOWATA, Okla. – An early morning fire destroyed a feed and supply store in Nowata, Oklahoma Thursday.

Firefighters responded around 5:00 a.m. to the ranch supply store and found the feed store fully engulfed upon arrival.

Power was temporarily shut down to more than 1,300 customers as a safety precaution for firefighters, which affected the water plant.

It was at that time firefighters called for help from surrounding communities. Seven departments responded to assist Nowata firefighters.

In all, 40-50 firefighters battled the flames.

Power was restored just before 7:00 a.m.

Firefighters remained on the scene monitoring hot spots while they await the arrival of the Fire Marshal.

The store includes several connected buildings, some of which were not damaged.
