HEARTBREAKING: Firefighter arrives at fatal crash, finds out daughter is the victim
NEW HAMPSHIRE – A New Hampshire volunteer firefighter responded to a fatal car crash on Christmas Eve, only to find out a heartrending discovery.
According to CNN, the body of the dying woman the firefighter removed turned out to be his 30-year-old daughter, Katie Hamilton.
“It’s a horrific crash, it really is. I know that she is a young mother. She’s – like I said – been in the community for a long time.” said Brookline Police Chief Bill Quigley. “Her family are impeccable people who are highly respected throughout the town of Brookline and the surrounding areas.”
Police say it appears Hamilton was driving south and was turning left when she was struck from behind sending her into oncoming traffic.
“A vehicle coming behind that vehicle didn’t notice the left hand turn signal, attempted to avoid striking the rear of the vehicle, but inevitably made contact with the right rear of the vehicle causing the vehicle to careen into the northbound lane where it was struck broadside by a northbound vehicle.” said Quigley.
No one else was injured in the wreck.
