NEW: Suspected home invader dies after being shot by homeowner, an OHP Trooper
A suspected burglar was shot and killed by an off-duty Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper.
It was there that investigators say the trooper was confronted by the suspect who had a gun. The suspect told the trooper to go back into his apartment.
Police say once inside, the trooper managed to get his weapon and that’s when he shot the suspect.
The suspect was transported to the hospital where he died during surgery.
Officials have confirmed that the alleged suspect is 22-year-old Anthony King, who escaped from the Oklahoma City Correctional Center.
It is not known if the trooper will be placed on an administrative leave.
