NEW: 2 arrested in McClain County shooting; Victim in intensive care
NEW:Two men have been arrested for Saturday’s McClain County shooting.
Michael Burell, 25, was arrested for attempted robbery and possession of a prescription narcotic without a written prescription of a physician, according to McClain County Police.
The second man involved was wanted for a warrant out of Cleveland County but has since been released.
The victim is still under sedation and is scheduled for a second surgery Monday.
OSBI is looking into filing charges against the men for reckless discharge of a weapon.
No other names have been released.
ORIGINAL: McClain County, Okla.- One woman is in intensive care and two men are detained after a shooting Saturday morning.
Police say the shooting took place about 1 mile east of Riverwind Casino, on State Highway 74, said Sheriff Don Hewett of McClain County.
Officials believe the group had left the casino and were fighting ove r money when the men got into a struggle involving a gun.
This is when they believe the gun discharged, hitting the women in the abdomen, said Hewett.
A trooper found the scene on a routine patrol. The vehicle was on the side of the road with all four doors open and the two men struggling over the gun in the backseat.
The woman was taken to OU Medical Center where she under went surgery and is now under heavy sedation. Police say they will not be able to question her until Sunday afternoon.
The 16-year-old son of the woman was also in the vehicle at the time and has since been released.
