OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City-County Health Department and Wellness Now are offering free Total Wellness classes starting January.
The Total Wellness program provides the tools to learn how to delay or prevent the onset of chronic diseases by helping people change their eating and exercise habits.
The classes teach important skills to help participants lose weight and keep the pounds off.
Classes will meet for one hour each week for 12 weeks. Participants will be encouraged to set goes for losing 5% of their body weight and becoming active for 2 1/2 hours per week.
Since 2007 the program participants have lost over 13,000 pounds by learning the basics of good nutrition, the importance of physical activity, and the key steps of successful weight control.
Space is limited and classes are filling up fast.
