Former Oklahoma offensive coordinator Mark Mangino has been hired by Iowa State for the same position.
Mangino spent this past football season as an assistant at Youngstown State University.
Prior to that, he spent three years out of football after being fired as the head coach of the University of Kansas for accusations of mistreating his players.
Mangino was 50-48 in his eight years as the Jayhawks head coach, won the 2007 Orange Bowl and was named the AP coach of the year after the win.
The 57 year old has coached with Bob Stoops for eight seasons at Kansas State and Oklahoma.
He was OU’s offensive coordinator in 2000 when the Sooners won the national championship.
