Patients: ‘Vampire facial’ provides instant relief from wrinkles

A new facial that has many flashing back to images of Dracula is all the rage these days.

Last week, fashion model Bar Rafeali Instagrammed a shot of herself undergoing the ‘Vampire Facial.’

Earlier this year, Kim Kardashian tweeted a picture of her own facial.

Dr. Paul Nassif, a plastic surgeon, said, “The vampire facelift rejuvenates your face and makes you look younger and the reason why we’re using the word ‘vampire’ is being we’re taking blood out of a patient.”

The patients’ own blood is drawn and placed into a centrifuge that rotates it around a vial.

Experts say it is spun down to get something called ‘platelet-rich plasma’ out of the blood.

The PRP is then put into the cheek to smooth wrinkles and signs of aging.

The side effects are minimal with no bruising or pain.

The procedure costs just under $3,000.

We’re told patients can expect results to last between six and nine months.

In many cases, the effects are immediate.

Before indulging, some doctors caution patients that a national clinical trial has not been done to prove the platelets are an effective filler.
