Freight-liner truck driver found dead on scene after vehicle burst into flames
SEQUOYAH COUNTY, Okla. – According to the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety, a fatality accident occurred at approximately 10:40 p.m. Saturday evening on I-40 eastbound mile marker 315.
The accident was about four miles east of Sallisaw in Sequoyah County.
According to officials, when officers arrived on scene they found a 2008 Freight-liner truck with a victim pronounced dead on scene.
The vehicle went off the roadway and became airborne which lead the vehicle into a concrete wall causing the vehicle to burst into flames.
The name of the victim has not been released pending family notification.
Officers are still investigating the accident to determine why the driver went off the road.
