NEW: Medical Examiner confirms body discovered is that of missing Shawnee man
UPDATED 5:30 p.m.
Medical examiners have confirmed the body found Wednesday is missing 27-year-old Marshall Dent.
According to examiners, the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head and neck.
Officials are now confirming that the manner of death is homicide.
Dent had been missing since Dec. 23.
His family spent their Christmas Day at the Shawnee Police Station filing a missing persons’ report.

MEEKER, Okla. – Pottawatomie County police received a shocking tip about human remains showing inside a shallow grave Wednesday evening.
Investigators tell us the unidentified body was found between the towns of Meeker, Prague and Shawnee in a wooded area on Tribal Land, just inside Pottawatomie County where is boarders Lincoln County.
After authorities got the tip about possible human remains around 5:30 this evening, BobMooreChopper4 flew to the scene.
The FBI is now teaming up with local authorities investigating the case.
