Health officials: 12 Oklahomans killed by flu this season
OKLAHOMA CITY – As we continue to reach the peak of flu season, the Oklahoma State Department of Health says seven people died from the virus this past week.
So far this season, 12 Oklahomans have died from the flu, including seven people from just last week.
One of those victims was a child under the age of 4.
The health department says the deaths were reported in the following counties:
- Cleveland County
- Comanche County
- Kay County
- Le Flore County
- McClain County
- Okmulgee County
- Osage County
- Pittsburg County
- Tulsa County.
So far this season, 399 people have been hospitalized from the flu, including 122 people who were sent to the hospital this past week.
