Lankford Announces Bid For Coburn’s Senate Seat
OKLAHOMA - Just three days after Oklahoma Senator Tom Coburn announced he won’t be finishing his term, Congressman James Lankford announces his bid for Coburn’s seat.
At the Oklahoma History Center Monday, Lankford, a republican from Oklahoma City, said a senate seat would give him a larger research team to bring conservative solutions to the democratic-controlled senate.
Job growth, Obamacare, and the national deficit were just three of the issues Lankford said he would continue working on.
During his congressional campaign three years ago, Lankford said Senator Coburn gave him important advice.
“Dr. Coburn told me there are two people who make a difference in the house,” he recalled. “Those in committee leadership and those who actually study. I followed that advice.”
The republican primary election is just five months away, June 24th.
