Corporation Commissioner Patrice Douglas runs for Congressman Lankford’s seat
EDMOND, Okla. – Earlier today Corporation Commissioner Patrice Douglas announced her candidacy for Congressman James Lankford’s seat in the house.
Douglas is a Republican and former mayor of Edmond.
She was was appointed to Oklahoma’s Corporation Commission by Governor Mary Fallin in 2010.
“My roots here in Oklahoma’s Fifth District run deep, with connections in communities from Shawnee to Bethany,” Douglas said in a press release. “All across the district, conservatives like me believe in the same things: lower taxes, limited government, and protecting our Constitutional freedoms.”
The special election will be held on the same dates as Oklahoma’s regularly scheduled elections.
The primary is June 24, a potential runoff would be Aug. 26 and the general election is Nov. 4.
