Heading to the post office today? It’s going to cost you more to mail a letter
OKLAHOMA CITY – If you are a little late sending those ‘thank you’ cards for Christmas presents, you’re going to have to pay for your procrastination.
Beginning immediately, it will now cost you more to send a letter.
The price of First Class stamps is going up to 49 cents, which is a three cent temporary price hike.
The temporary increase is part of the postal service’s effort to recover from severe mail decreases, which are being blamed on the 2008 economic depression.
The U.S. Postal Service is trying to recoup $2.8 billion in losses.
