Ice-cold brew? FAA shuts down Drone Beer Deliveries
MINNESOTA – The FAA put the breaks on a Brewery’s plan to deliver cases of beer by drones.
The owner of Minnesota-based Lakemaid Beer says the was inspired by Amazon’s announcement that it was planning on using drones to deliver packages, and recently adopted its own version of delivery drone.
The drone would deliver beer to fishers on frozen lakes, but it looks like the idea won’t take flight.
The FAA contacted Lakemaid Beers and told the owner that the company is violating rules.
The FAA is not expected to issue any new regulations governing the commercial use of drones until 2015.
