Two Oklahomans dead after two cell towers collapse

WEST VIRGINIA – Three people are dead, including two Oklahomans, after two cell towers collapsed in West Virginia.

The victims were contract workers who were tethered to the side of a 300-foot tower.

Two of them died when it fell Saturday morning.

A firefighter died when a second tower toppled just minutes later.

Crews were completing maintenance work to reinforce the tower’s support when it split.

The Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the accident.
