Train derailment shuts down State Highway 281 south of US-277

COMANCHE COUNTY, Okla. – According to Oklahoma Department of Transportation a train has derailed near the Lawton area of Oklahoma.
Troopers were called to the scene at approximately 1:58 p.m.
According to KSWO, there is a possible fuel leak coming from the train.
The derailment of the train has forced highway patrol to close off US-281 just south of US-277.
Oklahoma Department of Transportation is currently directing traffic to keep drivers from crashing into the train.
Authorities are advising people to use I-44 at Elgin for an alternate route.
