Missing trees at Leadership Square causing some to question new look
OKLAHOMA CITY – A number of trees that are now missing from the front of a downtown building has caused many people to ask questions about the new look.
Leadership Square, at 200 N. Robinson, is a long-time business and social hub.
Leadership Square’s building management says the building is revamping its look in conjunction with Project 180.
Project 180 is an Oklahoma City renovation plan that will include the redesign of downtown streets, sidewalks, parks and plazas to improve appearance and make the central core more pedestrian friendly.
The project is expected to a cost around $176 million.
Leadership Square is doing their own redesign.
They tell us many of the trees were outgrowing their planters and were under great stress.
They will be replacing all the trees with Shantung Maples, which are more durable.
