Missing Missouri girl found in Oklahoma; Father arrested for kidnapping at truck stop

OKLAHOMA CITY – A missing Missouri girl is safe and her father behind bars after police said the dad kidnapped the child as she was on her way to school Monday.

Officials said the man drove them to Oklahoma City where the father was found and arrested at a truck stop.

Aurora police the little girl’s father and uncle took 11-year-old Danielle Smith.

Both brothers are behind bars this morning.

It’s about a four-hour drive from Aurora, Missouri, to Oklahoma City.

She’s safe now.

Officials said Danielle and her brother were on their usual walk to school when their dad and uncle picked her up in a white car and took off.
