COLUMBUS, Ohio – A letter lost in the mail for more than eight years was finally delivered this week.

“I went to get my mail today and I looked at this envelope and I thought, ‘What cool stationary.’ Then I saw it was dated 2006 arts festival, and I said, ‘Well, that’s a little bizarre,'” said Scott Huntley, Director of the Columbus Arts Festival.

It was an application for the 2006 arts festival, postmarked in 2005, complete with slides for judging, and a check for the entry fee.

The application was from a local artist, and the eight-year journey covered about eight miles.

The U.S. Postal Service said the letter is a mystery for them as well.

They are looking into the delivery, and Huntley said he is simply curious to learn what happened.
