LAWTON, Okla. – Shortly after one this morning Lawton police responded to a report of vandals around the 4100 block of SW Park Ridge Boulevard.

While on the scene, police heard a loud commotion and yelling from a home, said Captain Craig Akard of the Lawton Police.

They attempted to check on the residents when a male came to the door and reportedly had a gun.

Two of the three officers on scene were at the door. According to the press release, the third officer said he heard them yell “gun” and then shots that resulted in the death of the male.

An investigation is underway and the two officers involved are on Administrative Leave pending that investigation.

The name of the deceased has not been released. But, stay with KFOR for updates as they come in.
