OKLAHOMA CITY – Midwest City fire crews and Tinker officials are on scene of a rekindled grass fire less than a miles from Tinker Air Force Base.

Crews were called to the 7400 block on south Douglas.

When crews arrived they spotted heavy black smoke seeping from the center of a field surrounded by cedar trees.

Crews are working to keep the flames from spreading any further.

Earlier this week this same area caught fire, burning several acres.

According to officials the fire has spread across approximately 20 acres just today.
