GUTHRIE, Okla. - A fire took the life of a Guthrie teen early Saturday morning.

Terick Jackson was home with his blind mother and brother when the fire began, his mother and brother were able to escape the rising flames before the home was consumed but Jackson was stuck upstairs.

Neighbors are rallying around the family to give them the help they need.

Deanna Rodriquez a friend of Jackson's says this is a huge loss for the community. "You couldn't find a better kid, so innocent so pure so helpful."

Rodriquez placed angel in the driveway of the home where 15-year-old Jackson tragically lost his life to remind people of who the Jackson was. " He was my favorite angel, he was everyone's favorite angel here."

Officials say the cause of death appears to be smoke inhalation, but it's still under investigation.

Rodriquez say Jackson's death is like shattering the foundation of the family. "He was his mom and dads right and left arm eyes."

With the loss of their home and their son, friends say the family needs all the help from the community they can get.

The family has set up a PayPal account if you would like to donate to help with the burial of their son.
