Families of the passengers on the missing Malaysian flight are dealing with the loss after learning that some evidence points to the plane crashing into the Indian Ocean.
The brother of American Philip Wood says the news is better than nothing.
Now, his family can start to have some closure.
Tom Wood, Philip Wood’s brother, said, “It’s not the answer we wanted but it’s an answer and it does help to know that we know something. You know, we know the plane went down and we wanna know more and hopefully, we do learn more.”
The airline notified families by text message but Tom Wood says that doesn’t matter.
His family isn’t looking for a place to direct their anger.
Instead, he is remembering what he learned from his brother.
He said, “Just being with him was special to me. I mean, we were close. He was close with all of us and I just enjoyed every moment I got to spend with him. You know, he was a big influence on me, on my life.”
He added, “I could go talk to him about anything. He taught me not to be judgmental. You know, he got me to learn how to forgive more and how to get my temper into check. I mean, he was that guy in my life.”
