Officials say that’s because the crop in Florida has been hit hard by the cold winter and by a fruit disease.
This year’s crop is expected to yield the lowest harvest in 24 years.
The Department of Agriculture expects the 2013-2014 orange harvest to be 18 percent less than last year’s.
Florida’s orange industry makes up 66 percent of the total U.S market and about 95 percent of the state’s orange crop is used for juice.
