Hospice managers charged with Medicare fraud for falsifying records
CHANDLER, Okla. – A hospice and two of its managers could face prison time for Medicare fraud.
Authorities say 38-year-old Paula Kluding, 42-year-old Patricia Carter and Prairie View Hospice face a total of 39 counts of Medicare fraud.
The hospice is accused of concealing the true medical conditions of hospice patients in order to pass a Medicare audit and obtain federal money.
Nursing notes were also allegedly falsified to make patients’ health appear worse than it really was.
