Local university to honor OKC bombing anniversary with flags

Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum 9:03 Gate - The minute after the bombing

EDMOND, Okla. – Oklahomans are gathering together to mark the 19th anniversary of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building bombing.

At 6:00 a.m. on Friday, April 18, student and staff volunteers will post 168 Oklahoma flags and 168 U.S. flags on the front lawn of the Oklahoma Christian University (OC) campus at 2501 East Memorial Road.

The “Ralph and Maxine Harvey Field of Flags” at Oklahoma Christian is a dual tribute to the victims of the Murrah Federal Building bombing on April 19, 1995, and the terror attacks on September 11, 2001.

The hope is that each person who sees the memorial tribute will take a moment to remember the 168 lives lost on that dreadful day.
