OAK CREEK, Wis. – Police said a Wisconsin man is now facing charges after allegedly killing his wife of 56 years because she was “nagging” him.

WITI reported 76-year-old Jack Lang allegedly shot and killed his wife, June, and then attempted to kill himself Wednesday.

According to the report, police found June’s body in the bedroom.

A .22 caliber revolver was on the side of the bed with rounds of ammunition on the nightstand.

Officers said Lang told them his wife had been “nagging” him for about three weeks and “he had just had enough.”

The report states Lang said his wife would call him names like “jerk off” because “he could no longer show her a good time.”

Lang told officers his wife also complained about needing neighbors to help her with work around the house because he could not do it anymore.

He told police he loved his wife but he just couldn’t take it anymore and “he lost it.”

Police said Lang went to the bedroom and loaded his gun.

He told his wife, who is legally blind, he had a gun but said she didn’t believe him.

Lang told officers he told his wife to “shut up” but she kept yelling at him.

Officers said Lang got about three inches from her face and shot her.

The report states Lang then tried to shoot himself but the bullet only grazed his head.

Lang is facing charges for first-degree murder and the use of a dangerous weapon.

He could face life in prison.
