OKC police warn parents after possible attempted abduction of student
OKLAHOMA CITY – Police are warning parents about a man who may have tried to abduct a child.
On Wednesday, authorities say a student was walking home near the intersection of S.W. 51st St. and Western Ave. when she was approached by a man.
According to the police report, the girl saw a gold SUV drive past her, make a U-turn and then pull up beside her.
The girl says the man told her to “get in” and she told him, “no.”
She told police she saw an auto body shop and started walking toward it.
She claims the man told her, “I’m gonna find out where you live” before driving off.
However, she went inside the business and called her mom.
The girl says the man was driving a gold four door SUV with tinted windows and a paper tag.
Officers say they believe this is an isolated incident but say parents should talk to their children about safety when walking to and from school.
