Oklahoma prison closing down operations
WATONGA, Okla. – A private prison in Oklahoma is shutting down operations.
Corrections Corporation America announced they are deactivating the Diamondback Correctional Facility in Watonga.
It appears this will affect about 100 workers.
A spokesperson says the facility had hired and trained staff to prepare to handle prisoners from other states.
However, those contracts never materialized.
Prison staffers are being given opportunities to transfer to other CCA facilities.
