‘I got hatred on Easter Sunday,’ Residents stunned by message in hidden Easter eggs
RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – Residents in one Virginia neighborhood say they were shocked when they discovered Easter eggs on their front lawns on Sunday morning.
However, now many people are furious with the message inside.
Each egg carried a slip of paper with a message targeting diversity and immigration.
The message read “Diversity = White Genocide,” stating immigration of “non whites” is also genocide.
Jim McCarty said, “I was stunned by it, on Easter Sunday. I wonder how many children picked these up and said, ‘Look what I got. Oh, I got hatred on Easter Sunday.’ What a great gift.”
John Bowling told WWBT, “It’s disappointing and depressing. Ugly.”
McCarty said, “You can spend your life spreading hatred or you can spend your life trying to spread kindness.”
Police are now opening an investigation into the notes.
