OKLAHOMA CITY – The Memphis Grizzlies slowed things down in the opening half and have a 46-43 lead over the Oklahoma City Thunder in game #2 of their NBA Playoff series before another boisterous sellout crowd at the Chesapeake Arena. Memphis trailed 14-2 in the first game, but came out and controlled the pace of the game in the opening quarter tonight.

The Grizzlies led 24-16 after the first period, but the Thunder started a bit of a comeback early in the 2nd quarter. After hitting just 5-19 shots in the first quarter, the Thunder started connecting with Russell Westbrook, Serge Ibaka and Kevin Durant. Westbrook leads OKC with 17 first half points on 6-10 shooting while Durant was held to just 8 shots, but scored 8 points and Ibaka tossed in 9 points as well as a couple of his signature blocked shots.

In the defensive battle, Westbrook is the only player on either team to score in double figures in the first half, but the Thunder shot just 38% and they have to free up the league’s probable MVP (Durant) for more open looks in the final half to take a 2-0 series lead.
