U.S. Supreme Court could soon make decision on Hobby Lobby contraception case
WASHINGTON – We could get word from Washington soon on a controversial case centered right here in Oklahoma.
Supreme Court Justices will be deciding a number of cases today and one of them could be the Hobby Lobby contraception case.
The Oklahoma-based retailer is challenging a requirement of the federal healthcare law that requires employers to provide all types of contraceptives, including Plan-B, as an option in its insurance coverage or pay a penalty of $1.3 million.
Hobby Lobby claims this requirement violates their beliefs as a religiously based company.
According to reports from CNN, justices appeared divided on the issue during oral arguments last month.
Experts say this case could set a precedent to unravel Obamacare or settle the issue once and for all.
