Children’s baseball tournament being moved for concerns over radiation
BRIDGETON, Mo. (KTVI) – A large baseball tournament is being rescheduled after residents say high levels of radiation were recorded near the field.
Residents who live near the Bridgeton Municipal Athletic Complex conducted their own tests and are now calling on the EPA to do its own testing on the area’s radiation levels.
This weekend, the complex was supposed to be filled with 95 baseball teams with kids between 7 and 14-years-old from all over the Midwest.
Now, the largest tournament of the year is being relocated.
The Bridgeton Parks and Recreation Athletic Supervisor says the city has contacted the EPA to ask about the recent tests, which showed a spike in radiation levels.
