EDMOND, Okla. – The Downtown Edmond Business Association will host their 35th Annual Arts Festival in historic downtown Edmond May 2-4 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
The event, which is free to the public, will feature more than 100 artists and live entertainment including appearances from Matt Stansberry and the Romance sponsored by Oklahoma Christian University and the Wise Guys sponsored by the Meat House.
Other activities during this family-friendly event include face painting, inflatables and a sidewalk chalk art activity. Area food vendors will also be on hand to serve the public. Tour bus and handicap parking will be available off of Main Street and Broadway behind Othello’s Restaurant.
This year the Arts Festival will benefit Lilyfield Christian Adoption and Foster Care, an organization that provides comprehensive services to women in unplanned pregnancies, couples wishing to grow their families through adoption and foster families and children. Lilyfield will have a booth at the Arts Festival and will be selling chances to win a gift basket with various items from downtown Edmond merchants.
Festival Market Place will close Wednesday, April 30 at 6 p.m.
There will also be temporary street closings beginning on Thursday, May 1 at 7 p.m. Drivers should be aware of the following closings; Broadway at Second Street north to Hurd; First Street west to the railroad tracks and east to the alley; Main Street east and west to the alley and the alley from Second Street to Main.
Streets will reopen on Sunday, May 4 at approximately 9 p.m.
