Several thousands dollars of controlled substance found in vehicle

CANADIAN COUNTY, Okla. – Two men are in jail after being caught with several thousand dollars worth of a controlled substance.

Deputies with the Canadian County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men after drugs were found in their car.

According to authorities, Curtis Johnson, 40, and William Fox, 33, were traveling from California to North Carolina when deputies stopped them for an improper lane change.

The Canadian County Sheriff’s Office says during the traffic stop and through the use of a Drug Detector Dog, a free air sniff around the vehicle was conducted, resulting in a positive alert.

Authorities say Johnson and Fox denied the presence of any illegal drugs in the vehicle.

However, deputies then entered the van and located several bottles of liquid THC.

Deputies also found $5,924 that was stuffed into a pair of shoes.

The ounce of THC the deputies found is believed to have a street value between $3,500 and $5,000.

Both men were transported to the Canadian County Jail where they were booked on charges of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and Concealing Proceeds Derived from the Sale of Drugs.
