Oklahoma’s softball team run-ruled Texas Tech 13-0 on Sunday in Norman to clinch at least a share of the Big 12 championship.
It’s the third straight year the Sooners have won the conference title and their 7th regular season title in Big 12 history.
OU scored five runs in the first inning and six more in the second.
Shelby Pendley got her first career pitching start and threw a 2-hit shutout in five innings, striking out five along the way.
Pendley also drove in three runs with a 2-run single in the first inning and an RBI double in the 2nd.
Leslie Miller hit a 3-run home run in OU’s five-run first inning, while Whitney Ellis had the big blow in the second inning with a grand slam.
Oklahoma has won 10 games in a row and will be off until facing Oklahoma State next weekend, visiting the Cowgirls on Saturday in Stillwater, and hosting OSU on Sunday in Norman.
The Sooners need just one win in those two games to win the Big 12 title outright.
