School district getting heat for assignment questioning the Holocaust
LOS ANGELES (KTLA) – A school district in California is receiving criticism and death threats following a controversial assignment.
Middle school students in the Rialto School District were given an 18 page project to help build their critical thinking skills.
However, the wording of the project has many teachers and activists furious.
The assignment asked students to consider arguments about whether the Holocaust was an “actual event” or just a “propaganda tool that was used for political and monetary gain.”
After the paper was assigned, the district’s interim superintendent received death threats.
Now, teachers are working to revise the project.
