Norman SWAT given top honors in the Sooner state

NORMAN, Okla. – Norman Police were crowned State SWAT champions.

Norman Police SWAT competed in Tulsa, Okla., in the Oklahoma State SWAT Competition. The Oklahoma SWAT Competition is an annual gathering of tactical teams from throughout the state of Oklahoma to network and compete in a series of events which test tactical skill sets, communication, and leadership abilities.

The events included a team obstacle course, hostage rescue event, sniper event, pistol skills course, carbine rifle skills course and a three fun event.

Teams from around the state including, Oklahoma City Police, Broken Arrow Police, Bartlesville Police, Edmond Police, Norman Police, and Stillwater Police competed in the event on May 7.

The results were as follows: Overall Team Champion – Norman Police Department.

2nd Place Overall – Edmond Police Department.

3rd Place Overall – Oklahoma City Police Department.
