Ford motor company is recalling nearly 700,000 vehicles due to safety problems.

The first case involved 692,000 500 C MAX Hybrids and Escape SUV’s from the 2013 and 2014 model years.

Ford says a software glitch can stop the side curtain airbags from inflating in some rollover crashes.

Meanwhile, the second case also involves Ford Escapes.

692,700 Escapes from the 2013 and 2014 model years are being recalled because the exterior door handles can bind and stop the door from latching properly – meaning the doors can open while in motion.

Ford says it’s received no reports of crashes or injuries in either case and that most of the Escapes have both problems.
