Whiskey distillery bringing home the bacon with new pork project

TEMPLETON, Iowa (WQAD) – The use of alcohol to marinate meat is pretty common but a distillery in Iowa is hoping an experiment will take away the need for a marinade.

The founders of Templeton Rye Distillery are trying to create pork that tastes like their famous whiskey.

They have raised 25 pigs, who are eating a distinct diet that includes dry distillery grain, which is mixed into the feed.

The team plans to have  a tasting at the end of June for the Templeton Rye Bootleggers Society.
