OKLAHOMA CITY – Today, the Dollar General Literacy Foundation awarded over $40,000 to Oklahoma City-area schools; nonprofits and literacy organizations to support adult, family and summer literacy programs.

Award recipients include:

Rose State College Foundation: $7,000

Norman Adult Learning Center: $10,000

FreedomSchool Oklahoma City: $2,000

National Women in Agriculture Association’s Sustainable Science Academy: $7,000

Opportunities Industrialization Center of Oklahoma County, Inc.: $14,477

The Dollar General Literacy Foundation is proud to support initiatives that help other improve their lives through literacy and education.

Since its inception in 1993, the Dollar General Literacy Foundation has awarded more than $92 million in grants to nonprofit organizations, helping more than five million individuals take their steps toward literacy or continued education.
