Plans for Memorial Day? Expect more traffic, higher prices
OKLAHOMA CITY – Families across the state will be hitting the road in the next couple of weeks for Memorial Day.
According to AAA, nearly 621,000 Oklahomans are projected to travel over the holiday weekend.
That number is about 10,500 more travelers compared to last year.
Experts say 85 percent of holiday travelers plan to drive to their intended destination but 83,000 Oklahomans say they will fly during the holiday weekend.
If you are planning to travel, officials say you should expect to pay more.
Airfare is six percent higher than last year, hotels are two percent higher and car rentals jumped one percent.
