KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Emergency crews in Kalamazoo, Michigan were called to an unusual rescue Tuesday afternoon.
FOX 17 reports a crowd gathered to watch animal control, public safety officers, and the fire department attempt to rescue a raccoon that was stranded on a building several stories high.
The raccoon was stranded for about an hour when an officer tried to scoop up the animal.
As the officer lost grip of the animal, the crowd gasped as the raccoon fell several stories and missed the net beneath.
The raccoon survived the dramatic fall, but was found bleeding.
The raccoon was transported to a rehabilitation facility and will not be euthanized.
